HERE'S FIVE TO LOOSE TEN!!

Parts are parts ... and pounds are pounds ... here are a few suggestions on how to look 10 pounds thinner today!
MONOCHROMATIC DRESSING - choose one colour from head to toe, it will make you look thinner and taller instantly! The vertical flow of one colour will elongate the body giving you a taller appearance.
HIGHER HEELS - with the wedge heel this spring, it's more comfortable to wear a shoe with a slightly higher heel and not suffer with sore feet!
TOSS OUT TIGHT - if you wear clothes that are a 'teeny bit tight' or too small, you immediately gain ten pounds! Spring is a great time to go through your wardrobe and clean out the clutter of what doesn't fit, what is out of date, and needs repairs.
TO BELT OR NOT TO BELT - never wear belts too tightly, it will result in a pudgy look. Narrow belts work best for most silhouettes, with the exception of tall, thin gals who are able to wear the wide ones.
SKIRTS WITHOUT FLARE - straight skirts should be tapered two inches at the hem to look 10 pounds thinner! Waistlines that are 'fitted' and not gathered are always a slimmer choice.

Take the time to SPRING CLEAN YOUR WARDROBE! Decide what to keep, what to toss and what to have altered!!

THE FLURRY OF FEBRUARY!!

Who said February was a depressing, mundane kind of month? That certainly was the farthest description of the February Flurry at Alice's Sewing Shoppe!! Introducing our Elf - Sue!! What a wonderful blessing to the workshop! She cuts, she sews, she chats - what other qualities could be more perfect in the workroom? Well - a lot of brain storming has occurred, along with some reorganization and catchup on the back log ... it's going to be a spectacular spring!! Capes, cloaks, shawls and ponchos are sure to spark an interest this spring - especially those for the rainy season!! We're also gearing up for the celtic festival and entertaining medieval adventures as industrious merchants!! Variety is still the spice of life here! We have a couple of weddings, some haute couture tailoring and our regular variety of alterations and repairs. The showroom is evolving ... visit us soon!

Showroom Makeover ...

A busy start to the new year leaves the showroom in a much needed change for the upcoming spring season! Brainstorming, numerous ideas, fashion fancies, and a sparkle for spring's arrival are contibuting to the development of 'what's to come', in addition to adding a substantial introduction of our leatherwork department: Chaps, Tack & Leatherwork. A variety of leather products will be on display to show the artistic talent and quality of work produced here.
